I get this question number of times on my Instagram profile that is it possible to gain muscle while reducing body fat percentage and yes it is possible.

Now I already did a few transformations earlier to showcase this, where people have reduced body fat percentage and maintained their muscle mass (body recomposition).

But today let me share with you a transformation where this guy reduced fat mass and gained a few inches around his arms.

I will not disclose this person’s name as he has asked me to keep his identity anonymous.

We will call him Mr. X!

So, Mr. X is a 21-year-old guy from Delhi, India and when he first approached me he told me bro is it possible to gain muscle while losing body fat without using steroids?

I asked why are you asking that?

He said, bro! most of the gym trainers in Delhi ask us to take that and tell that this will transform you within days.

And I said Mr. X, I know this is a big issue with many trainers those who recommend stuff but trust me it is not needed!!

Not Eating Enough Calories

The first thing which I have asked Mr. X was what is your daily calorie intake?

He was actually having no clue, he said that he is consuming around 1800 calories, but when I have calculated his daily calorie intake with whatever food he was consuming it was way too low!

From there, I have restructured everything came to a point where he has actually started consuming more food than he was eating before and within a span of 2 months he has lost 3.5 kg and gained a good amount of muscle mass.

He said that his bicep size increased from 13 inches to 14.5 inches and reduced 2.7 inches around his waist after making these changes.

Workout Routine

We followed a Push, Pull, Leg Routine during this transformation, trained 6 days a week.

We also made sure that we don’t overstress the muscles and tendons, therefore, we gave a de-load week after every 4-6 weeks.
